This week we read many fiction books about Pirates. We made treasure maps using positional words and adjectives to describe how to read our maps. We wrote pirate stories and worked on retelling important story elements. We read the story Pirates don't go to School and compared and contrasted how pirates are different from school kids.
In math we worked on finding numbers that come before and after a given number. We also have been working on double ten frames as we work on teen numbers. If they saw the number 13 we have been practicing saying I have 1 group of ten and 3 ones. We also played a game where we had to add three dice together to get a total sum. We played a memory game as well where they had to flip to make 5 or 10 by adding the two numbers. This was a good challenge for kids!
Monday: March 2nd will be day 2.
